From product focus to service focus

Forestry machinery is sold as machinery in most of the world, but in some markets it is sold as felling capacity, mainly on markets where there is no developed entrepreneurial culture.

The market would be widened in other areas if one can find similar possibilities on new and traditional markets. For Komatsu Forest, therefore, there are great possibilities, but also great challenges, in taking a step towards service focus in their customer relations.
The aim of this preliminary study is to chart the possibilities and the challenges of service orientation for this type of product.
